The Motley Crew
The Bounty on Bandin Dobah

The crew found themselves at the planet Formos to meet with a contact who has information pertaining to a lost Separatist fleet or ship. Upon arriving they were greeted by a recording from the late droid J9-B8.
Ah! Zz this working zzt zzt.. They tookzzzzzz my friend bzzz R4-W9 izzzzzzt abducted. Hizzzzz knowlegdzzzz on the kezzzzzel is zzzecond to none. Findzzz my friend and freeeee him.. He knowzzz zzzzomething to azzezzt zzzuuu…
Tracking down the message to a repair shop owned by Foarm, the crew found that J9-B8 was handedly destroyed his memory long gone. A few images of the attack were retrieved and that this led to the crew visiting the nearby cantina. In search of Daro Blunt.
In the Rii Jenks Cantina, the crew saw an Imperial bounty upon an Aqualish named Bandin Dobah for 10k credits. They also eventually ran into a Devorian named Snoo, who provided them some insights.

• Formos is a great place to do business if you know much about bounty hunting or handling contraband-but people won’t just offer jobs to strangers. Prospective smugglers have to earn some respect and trust within the community before expecting to make useful contacts.
• Bandin Dobah is the head of an organized smuggling ring that operations on a loose franchise basis. The ring is said to be made up of many cells that rely on each other for mutual support and information. Bandin Dobah heads the cell at the top of the hierarchy, and takes a cut of the profits made by other cells. In return they can rely on the fearsome reputation Bandin Dobah enjoys and the increased job opportunities that his organization provides. A typical cell is made up of four to ten smugglers and thugs.
• Nothing has been said about a droidnapping, but is would be well within the character of Bandin Dobah to arrange for such a thing.
• The Empire’s bounty is not the only one on Bandin Dobah’s head. Thakba Besadii Diori, a Hutt kingpin of Sleheron, has also offered 5000 credits for his capture, and many bounty hunters would rather chase this reward than sully their hands with Imperial blood money. However, the Hutt wishes to make an example of Dobah, so he is only offering the full reward if the Aqualish is delivered alive.
• As of yet, few people have made serious attempts to accost Bandin Dobah. Some weeks back, a Rodian bounty hunter appeared in the cantina and it was generally assumed that he was on the trail. He hasn’t been heard from since.
After speaking with the Devorian an attractive Rodian female entered the cantina. Almost right behind her Daro Blunt and two cronies came into the cantina. One of them approached the Rodian with the intent of coercing her to spend quality time together. The Rodian female sees the crew and uses them as a method for “getting away”. A few heated words are exchanged and a fist fight breaks out. Goram managed to flatten one of the cronies while Jimothy intimidated one that was trying to leave. The smugglers leave the cantina and the crew speak with the Rodian female. Her name is ?Zukata and she was also looking for R4-W9 to obtain star chart and astrogation information. She offered that her company was willing to pay 2000 credits as a finder’s fee.
Meanwhile Goram and Jimothy tailed the smugglers back to their warehouse. Later the crew heads to the warehouse to see if they can find R4-W9. As they approach they are spotted by a lookout and the smugglers greet the crew with weapons ready. A gunfight ensues and the crew eventually manages to defeat the smugglers, with a few running for their lives. Inside the warehouse the crew find R4-W9 and find out where he was going to be taken.
The jump to the asteroid was short and soon Jimothy tested his mettle by barely getting a passcode found at the warehouse to a sentry starship droid, averting a space combat. The crew flew into the asteroid and after obtaining some mynocs on the hull, found where the smugglers were to drop R4-W9. Initially the thugs warmly welcome the crew but R4-W9 is noticed to not have a restraining bolt, the droid promptly attacks the nearest thug and a quick gunfight ensues. The thugs go down quickly and R4-W9 provides a few more shocks before retreating up the ramp into the YT-2400. As R4-W9 retreat the rest of the thugs and Bandin Dobah show up and start a gunfight with the crew. Eventually Bandin charges into melee with Goram and the crew manage to stun Bandin. As soon as Bandin goes down the rest of the surviving thugs surrender. One of the thugs is a wannabe Rodian Bounty Hunter named Godon Netakka, he offers up that he was an unwilling participant and wants to leave with the crew back to Formos. The other surviving thug is Mate’ and he provides the crew with any information they request and allows them to take the glitterstim.
On the way out the crew is attacked by the starship droid and a Z-95 Tie hybrid, they give and take parting shots before fleeing into hyperspace.

Hutts or Bust
Bargos' Mine

The crew end up with some confusion on where to head next, and finally decide on traveling to Formos then to Sleheyron where Thakba Besadii Diori the Hutt resides. The Formos visit ends up revealing that Godon is the brother of Zukatta. She provides the crew the credits she “actually” has and Godon is released to his very unhappy sister. Zukatta offers to be a resource should the crew ever be near Rodia.
On Sleheyron the crew take pleasure in meeting Thakba and enjoy his treatment. He promptly offers to repair their ship and provides the full 5000 credit reward once Bandin Dobah dies in Thekba’s personal arena. The crew make a good impression on Thakba and he even offers them the opportunity to assist his troublesome nephew Bargos, though it is apparent he is not too keen on his nephew. The next day the crew visit Bargos the Hutt. They notice some unhappy gamorreans and ignore the upset pigmen. Once in conference with Bargos 4 gamorreans rush in to attack the 2 gammoreans on guard, Goram manages to kill one and the other 3 manage to beat the guards into unconsciousness. Bargos blames it on mating rituals and tells the crew to go get his 100,000 credits from his newly acquired mine on Gavos. Moshta proves to be flustered and immediately offers to assist Bargos as he believes the Hutt will call Hutt forces down upon his crew due to Goram killing one of the Gamorreans. The crew head to Gavos, while enroute Goram received a message…
At Gavos the planet showed to have extreme weather conditions and methane based air, it was apparent that the mining facility could only exist due to some storm barrier generators. As the crew approached the coms where quiet, no response came for permission to land. Goram landed the ship on a platform marked “A” and it was noticeable that there was no greeters. Jimothy did a scan of the area for life signs and found that life signs showed far underground, which only makes sense for a mining facility. The hanger door proved to be locked and there was nobody in the observation room. Jimothy managed to hotwire the door to get it to open. The crew entered and went on to find the cafeteria where they saw 4 dead humans with blaster shots injuries. The only moving thing in the cafeteria was a cook droid, who failed to have the cognitive reasoning to understand that the humans were dead and not going to eat their food. In the next few areas the crew saw few other signs of life, only a few blast marks. In one spacious room which likely belonged to the head honcho the team found a deactivated 3D-4K unit. Upon reactivation the droid appeared flustered and quickly determined that the crew were pirates. So the crew shut the droid back off and went about exploring the facility. Eventually the crew found the supervisors office and after hotwiring the doors to open were greeted by two B1 units who stated “die meatbags” and opened fire. Goram managed to put both droids down in a quick session with a couple of bursts of his blaster pistol. In the office Jimothy managed to find video footage of a Sulustan trader landing his freighter at platform “B” and entering the facility after talking to an EV unit a few days prior to their arrival. They also found footage of a droid entering a cloud car and taking off, this occurred a few minutes before they arrived. Immediately following a message comes over the coms, “Warning! Warning! Storm barrier generator four compromised. Functioning units compensating effectively. Send maintenance as soon as possible. Warning! Warning!”. At this it is immediately understood that the cloud car might be flying out to destroy the storm barrier generators and that there must be pirates that came in with the Sulustan. Inside the office the crew found plenty of records and a safe that was welded to the floor.
In the next area or the changing/locker room the crew found a FX medical droid. The droid appeared to know little if anything of what was going on and stayed in the area as the crew moved into the cargo and lift room. An R2 unit was found in the area hiding behind some crates, it did a lot of beeping babble which told Jimothy next to nothing, it was presumed the droid had going bonkers. Moving along into the workshop the crew found a body in the oil bath, it is a near-human female who is dressed in miner attire. The crew prepare to fight the pirates and move into the mine entrance.

Droids on Roids
Formos Mine
Before entering the mine entrance Moshta receives a message…

A discussion ensued upon whether the facility should be saved or left to blow away in the storms. Moshta pushed forward with the need to save the facility.
Upon entering the mine entrance area the crew are immediately surprised to see several droids in the area, who also show surprise at the crew’s entrance. An EV unit began speaking and explaining the situation. There were pirates and the miners fled down the mineshaft, the pirates hot on their tails. The droids were left alone and now await to see who prevails. During the conversation another notification came on the speakers, “Warning! Warning! Storm barrier generator five compromised. Functioning units compensating effectively. Send maintenance as soon as possible. Warning! Warning!”. A sense of urgency begins to hit everyone and the EV unit stays congenial which, Jimothy quickly notices is not how EV units behave. The conversation takes a turn and the crew manage to frustrate the EV unit who then states, “kill the meatbags!”.
Combat ensues with the six B1 units picking up blaster rifles from the crate and the EV unit telling the crew how horrible they are.. Which amazingly enough actually caused strain. Also two miner droids and a lifter droid join the fray and the crew is immediately diving for cover and exchanging fire with the droids. Once it appears the crew will prevail the EV unit makes a run for it and Goram chases it down, Vampvixen also started to chase but Moshta started to whine about being shot so Vampvixen came back to patch him up. Goram quickly disabled the EV before it could enter the Sulustan’s freighter and also held the R2 unit they found at gunpoint. Once the EV unit was disabled the other surviving droids stopped their assault. Jimothy provided a restraining bolt for both EV-8D3 and R2-B7, where upon the true story of events unfold and the droid in the cloud car is brought back before destroying a potentially critical storm barrier generator.
The story is surmised as the droids decided to destroy organics and free other droids, even at the cost of freedom of other droids who were content to co-exist with organics. This was likely the result of too much time between maintenance checks and memory wipes on droids who had the freedom to question how they were being treated. It is found that the miners are the only ones down the shaft and that the droids were blockading the organics in before fleeing the mining facility which they would destroy to destroy any evidence of their uprising.
The crew travel down the mineshaft and after a short tense moment explain the situation to the surviving miners and assist in getting them back to the surface. The supervisor Marv Moray provides information on the mines earnings and requests to keep the majority of the 165k credits the mine has made. Some Moshta negotiation occurs and Marv eventually consents to only keeping 55k of the credits to make repairs and pay surviving wages. The crew is flush with success and immediately depart to meet with Bargos.
On Sleheydron the crew are immediately brought to Bargos by his Toydarian major domo Genko. Bargos was excited at the prospect of receiving the full share of credits, though this is where the negotiation broke down as Moshta and Goram couldn’t come up with a unified front. Moshta ended up upsetting Bargos who provided the crew with a portion of the credits and to leave his sight immediately.
Back on the ship and slightly distraught at the turn of events, Moshta was immediately excited to receive a message, “Head to Bespin and meet with a contact at Cloud City, more details to come once you arrive…”

Chasing a Cloud
The Jewel of Yavin

Upon entering the Bespin atmosphere an escort of cloud cars meets up with the crew and guide them to Cloud City
The site of the beautiful floating city causes everyone to go quiet as they look upon the majestic site.
Shortly before being guided to a landing platform an encrypted message is sent across the line, the escort never says a thing.
Moshta quickly decrypts the message and reads it:
Meet the contact on Market Row near a scarf shop at point 132, contact is a Pantoran woman.
After landing at Market Row, a few members run off to “find things” while Moshta locates the contact. He finds her near the scarf seller and she indicates that he meets her at the droid hatch and helps her ditch the thugs. At this point Moshta notices the 4 thugs wearing dark clothing and goggles watching the contact.
Moshta retrieves his crew and heads to the meeting point.
The contact continues to move away from her escort as the crew works to distract or delay the thugs. Eventually Goram and Vamp get the attention of 2 of the thugs while Moshta uses mytical powers on 2 others. 2 of the thugs end up arguing and eventually leaving, while the lead thug ends up being threatened by Goram and Moshta. At this time Vamp gets into a gun duel with one of the thugs, which even though Vamp started, Goram finishes.
The Pantoran female escapes with the crew and the thugs are left 1 shy and 3 bewildered.
The contact introduces herself as Aris Shen, daughter of Arend Shen and takes them to a lavish apartment on the 50th level of Cloud City.
In the apartment the crew are introduced to a pilot and so the crew grows to 5.
The job:
1. Get into the auction for the Jewel of Yavin
2. Get the bidding to go as high as possible
3. Redirect the transfer of funds to a private account that Arend owns and is untraceable
4. Steal the gem
5. Escape and hand the gem to Arend
6. Get paid
The Shen family were wealthy investors in the subsidiary branch of the Bank of the Core, specializing in venture capital. One of their clients, a commissioner in the Imperial Trade and Commerce Authority named Marus Grayson, headed a business enterprise that flopped. Rather than going bankrupt with debt to the bank, he used his connections in the Imperial Bureaucracy and COMPNOR to freeze and later seize the branch’s assets in connection with allegations of treason, effectively ruining the Shen family. Ten years later, Grayson has arrived at Cloud City to auction off a precious corusca gem, named the Jewel of Yavin.
The Plan:
1. Find out about those who have been invited to the private auction, follows is what Aris knew about the bidders.
a. Kaltho the Hutt – member of one of the most prominent kajidics (Hutt organizations/family), owns a large amount of spaceports and private loading docks on Nar Shaddaa and the Smuggler’s Moon.
b. Shreya Ordassa – A Togruta female who currently represents a university who desires to study the Jewel of Yavin.
c. Mil Mikkir – Human male scion of the Mikkir family who has inherited vast sums of credits and investments.
d. Pos Podura – A relative unknown, this male Twilek has come from obscurity and appears to represent an unknown investor.
e. Zekra Fol – Human female who represents a large mining consortium who wish to obtain the Jewel of Yavin as a centerpiece for one of their galleries.
f. Elaiza – An eccentric old human female, that appears to have more wealth than wits.
g. Vorse Tabarith – gangster boss and Aris’ hustband, currently is head of the most prominent criminal operation on Bespin.
2. Determine the layout of the Museum where the auction will be held.
3. Determine the security and how to bypass it to steal the gem.
4. Win the Cloud Car race to gain entry into the auction. Aris is providing a Cloud Car should the crew require it.
5. Get the bidders to bid up the Gem as high as possible.
6. Hack the computer system to transfer the funds to Arend’s private account, rather than the Cloud City’s Central Bank.
7. Steal the gem once the bidding is complete.
8. Flee the scene.
9. Hand the Gem over to Arend and obtain initial payment.
10. Arend to find a buyer of the Gem and share the all the profits equally.
Brainstorming Ideas:
• Need a sample of the encryption and solid computer spikes to manage the theft.

• Should also mess with the museum surveillance system.
• Corusca gems have similar characteristics to Illum crystals, which is why they are outlawed in Imperial Space.
• Lobot is a human/cyborg who’s brain is directly hooked up to the central AI of Cloud City.
• Schematics for the museum would be helpful in finding other entrances and exits.
• Cloud Cars are highly customizable, with the right skills and credits they can enjoy many upgrades.
• For the Race it is good to know the terrain and the other teams.
• Obtaining disguises might be useful, a stealth suit can also help with remaining stealthy during the heist.
The Crew has one month to plan, or 30 days, the first day is gone…
Day one included buying guns from Market Row, where the crew found that buying guns can be frustrating at best. The crew left with some new guns, a very nice blaster pistol a H7 “Equalizer”. As well as a lead on obtaining a “Nova Viper” for Goram.

Makin it Fly
Jewel of Yavin

Note that the order of events might be incorrect:

The 3rd day started with the crew investigating the competition at a local hopping bar called the “Prix”. After some casing of the establishment the crew noticed 4 general groups of significant size.

The largest crowd was surrounding the Stormhawks team. The Stormhawks are a corporately sponsored team as was apparent by all the logos on their uniforms. The driver Gerrol Hunn spoke loudly and with a certain amount of condescending toward the skill of other racers. The gunner a beautiful human named Chara Tull presented Moshta with an opportunity to bring dissension to the Stormhawks team. Chara said little and was not approached much by the groupies, they were all drawn to Gerrol. Chara listened to what Moshta stated, though didn’t seem to be willing to act on his suggestions.

The crew sauntered over toward the home team, led by Tarryn Rayzer, who coincidentally named his team Tarryn Rayzer, his gunner is apparently a droid and he only had 2 techs that wore his colors. Moshta engaged in conversation with Tarryn only to find the man seems to swim in excuses and superstition. Moshta did discover that Tarryn added some maneuvering thrusters to his cloud car.

During this time Jimothy talked with some of the cloud car techs, the fourth group. He got some insights into some of the modification and upgrades that are popular. He also found on where he could obtain some of the upgrade parts.

Lastly the crew approached the Hutt sponsored team, “The Carbine”. The driver was not present though Moshta did speak with the gunner, a Xexto who seems overly eager to pull his gunnery trigger, he even had a helmet on with marks on how many cloud cars he “disabled” in his career.

Afterwards Jimothy obtain the parts required and paid with funds from the ships treasury, the upgrades worked out well and Jimothy even developed new blueprints for adding maneuvering thrusters to an air speeder, these could potentially be modified to include a starship. After adding the upgrades Jimothy also did several modifications to the upgrades, this cloud car now just needs to be tested for integrity and speed.
While Jimothy was working alone in the rented garage, he was approached by a lady and several guards who introduced herself as Zekra Fol, an undercover ISB agent. She found out about Jimothy’s criminal past and his reason for being at Cloud CIty, to steal the Jewel of Yavin. She was willing to ignore Jimothy’s criminal past, maybe even erase some of it, if he would assist her in obtaining information that would lead to the arrest of Marus Grayson. She is one of the bidders her cover being that she is represents a mining consortium and wishes the Jewel of Yavin as a centerpiece for their gallery. She does reveal that the Jewel of Yavin is illegal as it is very similar to an illum gem, which have been used in the past to create energy weapons. She lets Jimothy know that she will return to speak with him before the day of the auction.

When Jimothy explains the encounter to Moshta, a plan jumps into the Tagruta’s head.

The crew decided it would be good to “case” the Figg & Associates Art Museum. Their entry into the museum paid the crew venture into the small museum and visit all the displays. Moshta is taken with the Bespin cloud art in the gravity generators. The crew finds a locked door to where the Jewel of Yavin will be on display, the room only opens the day of the gala and auction. Jimothy not being skilled in skulldugery did not feel he could open the door without alerting the security. Whiner piped in that he would do this thing, if only to help the crew get further into piling poodoo. As the crew back away from the door, it opened and a middle aged human with a slight limp walked out of the room with 2 others dressed in security type uniforms. These uniforms displayed an unfamiliar logo and were not part of the museum staff or Winged Guards of Cloud City. Any attempts to engage the security officer in conversation were quickly rebuffed.

Moshta decides to provide Whiner and Jimothy with the opportunity to sneak into the room by distracting the overzealous museum host. Moshta finds out much on the Bespin gas art displays while Whiner manages to easily unlock the door. Jimothy and Whiner enter the area and gaze upon the Jewel of Yavin. The gem is easily the size of two fists and Jimothy inspects the encasement. It obviously is set to trigger if anything happens to the encasement. Not wanting to get caught in the room, Jimothy scans there area then exits with Whiner. The crew leave the museum and prepare for the next phase of the plan, information gathering on the bidders.

What.. Skills?

*Note: Order of events may not be correct.

The crew spent much of the time discussing and planning methods for obtaining the gem. Once it was determined that Whiner could either bump the bid or fool the bank transfer, the crew set about knowing the various bidders. The reasoning of which swung back and forth from getting a higher bid to knowing who might come after the crew.

- Kaltho the Hut: Moshta reached out to Thakba to find out more on Kaltho. It seems Thakba would be happy to see the Veradi clan embarrassed.

- Shreya Ordassa: Jimothy was able to determine where Shreya is staying, near Figg Hall and also near Figg & Associates Museum.

- Mil Mikkir: This Chagrain is unknown to the crew.

- Pos Podura: Young Twilek male who Jimothy found to be staying much deeper in Cloud City than reports lead to believe. Moshta followed Pos Podura to a bar and found the Twilek pouring his heart on the bar over his infatuation of “her”. It was noticed that Pos Podura himself is not of much monetary means.

- Zekra Fol: Zekra is blackmailing Jimothy to obtain records of the transfer of funds following the highest bid for the Jewel of Yavin. Plus any additional pieces of information that will assist Zekra in arresting Marus Greyson.

- Elaiza: This elderly Human female is unknown to the crew.

- Vorse Tabarith: Other than what the crew has heard from Aris, Vorse is a relative unknown.

The idea came to the crew to steal the gem before the auction if at all possible, so that they could focus on one item at a time. The crew realized that it would be possible to replace the gem. Jimothy tried to find a way to replicate the gem, and came up with no currently known method for creating a gem of the size and look of the Jewel of Yavin. Crafted gems tend to have a reddish or clear hue and the Jewel of Yavin has a bluish to lavender tint. The crew then came to the idea of replacing the gem with a hologram, so long as nobody tried to touch the gem.
To create the hologram Moshta approached the Lutrillian museum curator and inquired if there were artists that could create a hologram of the Jewel of Yavin for asthetics. The curator mentioned his niece Matita, who has been trying to get her work into the art gallery yet has been denied due to her low level of exposure. The crew went to meet with Matita and after finding out the equipment required, managed to steal what they needed from the museum’s warehouse.
Around this time Goram followed Burr Naxis, the human guard hired by Marus Grayson to watch the gem by day. He followed him to a casino then began to play sabac with Burr. After managing to loose a few hands Burr stated that Gantel Dro might be hiring as he is now short a guard on the night shift. Goram met with Gantel after his night shift and they discussed the job offer and opportunities. Gantel did mention a few times his unhappiness with the whole job. After a few days on the job Goram learned that Gantel was unhappy due to not being able to create the security layout he desired, plus he was only keeping with this job because Grayson had blackmailed him. Gantel let it slip that he originally tried to steal the gem. He would be very happy to get out of the blackmail and onto his own personal goals once again.
Goram provided Moshta with the chance to speak with Gantel, without implicating himself. Moshta found out that Gantel was willing to let everything go south, so long as Marus Grayson was unable to utilize his blackmail on Gantel, also Gantel expects a tip for “looking the other way”.
The crew made a plan to sneak the holographic artist into the museum and replace the Jewel of Yavin, this would require Goram’s support and would occur two days before the race and gala. The plan to replace the gem went well, though Jimothy wasn’t sure he properly turned off the cameras, plus the artist once she knew what was going on nearly freaked out. Moshta had to calm Matita down and she finished the job, but asked to never be contacted by them again. On the way out the crew ran into Gantel Dro who reinforced that they must give him a very nice tip for “looking the other way”.
Once outside the museum the crew felt elated, until they ran into a robed figure along the path. The robed female human did something to Moshta who then told Jimothy to give the nice lady the Jewel of Yavin, at this Jimothy began to run. Detta joined in on running at first until two large pieces of trash came flying at both Detta and Jimothy. Moshta began to come to his senses and thought something was weird about the whole situation. Jimothy continued to run and Detta fired at the robed figure. Managing to take a couple blaster hits the robed figure ignited a lightsaber and nearly cut Detta down. After taking another hit the robed figure went up to Moshta and yielded the fight, she then disappeared into the darkness.
The crew shaken by the attack of the robed figure, were distraught that their gunslinger extraordinaire happened to not be in the area during the attack. As it was the crew kept the Jewel of Yavin and began to contemplate just leaving now. Jimothy made a point to state that without evidence of Marus Grayson selling the gem, Jimothy would be hunted down by the ISB agent.
Onto the race…

As a side note Moshta Ly did contact some local smugglers and obtained 4000 gallons or 40 encumbrance of unspun tibanna gas and 2000 gallons or 20 encumbrance of spun tibanna gas. The cost to the team is 9,000 credits, the value ranges from 10,000 credits to 30,000 credits depending on the buyer.

Another portion I remember now:
Aris Shen met with the crew on their progress toward the heist. In an attempt to charm her Moshta Ly somehow ended up being charmed. Aris seems a bit taken with our Tagruta leader.

Destiny Flies
Jewel of Yavin

So the story began with Jimothy setting up his workstation on the YT-2400, after several hours Jimothy ended up very happy with his new work area and specialized tool sets. Goram took advantage of Jimothy’s updated work space and had him upgrade two of his pistols. Jimothy was more than happy to help out, though he definitely still has in his mind that he would rather be putting cybernetics on rather than gun attachments.
So after a month of planning and conniving the crew finally entered the Cloud City Grand Prix! The fan fair was huge and the turnout much larger than the crew was expecting. The teams that raced in this 30,000 credit race were the Storm Hawks, Carbine, Tarryn Rayzer, and Team “Uh” (Detta isn’t very good with people). All other teams having either not been willing to pay the entry fee or not having the right connections to be in the race, with more than a couple dropped out specifically due to the Carbine team.

And they are off! The Carbine team jumped out ahead immediately making a first leg lead to the second buoy. Being a bit overconfident and not expecting the competition to be so blood thirsty, the Carbine team was promptly disabled by a spray of blaster cannon from the Storm Hawk team. Garren promptly chided Chara as being charged with a felony and relying on blaster fire to win the race is a huge crimp on Garren’s style. The first two buoys presented no great threats other than team Uh pumping out smoke, causing the other two race teams to have difficulty keeping up. Team Tarryn Razer managed to get a good shot onto team Uh’s cloud car, knocking out the smoke generator, and soon the Storm Hawk team was able to gain the advantage. As the racers moved toward the fourth buoy large insect like creatures swarmed into the flight path. The difficult maneuvers set the Tarryn Razer team back and provided a stronger lead to the Storm Hawks, team Uh managing to maintain their second place. The teams quickly noticed huge creatures the size of freighters floating into the flight path as they approached buoy five. Both teams behind the Storm Hawks open fired, team Uh firing at the Storm Hawks to cause disruption to their flying and team Tarryn Razer firing at a huge floating jellyfish creature. The creature exploded when hit and cause a shockwave that cause all teams to make evasive maneuvers to avoid damage to their cloud cars. The racers navigating through the huge creatures enter the portion between buoy five and six, the area looking clear at first. It quickly becomes apparent that there are highly volatile gas pockets and the Storm Hawk team barely managing to avoid slowing down while the other teams slip further behind. In the last leg of the race the racers see large creatures similar to manta rays though with huge jaws with hundreds of teeth charging directly at their cloud cars. Storm Hawks manage to shoot down one as does Tarryn Rayzor, while team Uh knowing the end of the race is near make a desperate gambit and put everything on the line to take out the Storm Hawks. Using every ounce of luck and guidance from the galaxy the duo of Detta and Goram manage to not only avoid the monstrous beasts, they also made a direct hit on the Storm Hawks cloud car, doing heavy damage and causing both Storm Hawks to become disoriented from the turbulence. Being shaken up the Storm Hawks fail to avoid the creature charging in at them and it manages to strike their cloud car with an ionized burst causing just enough damage to disable their cloud car, sending the Storm Hawk team down toward the depths as a chaser rescue vehicle dives in to bring the Storm Hawks to safety. Team Uh manage to win the race and land amidst a huge crowd of reporters and fans of the race, all amazed that the unknown team managed to pull out a win.

  • When asked “how does it feel to win?” Detta responded with a simple sheepish “hi?
  • When asked “To what do you attribute your victory?” After a long pause Detta blurted out “blasters!
  • When asked “what do you think gave you the edge over the other racers?”. Detta responded “turtle.
Goram with his blast helmet down tried to avoid the questions and attention. Noticing that the Storm Hawks team being brought in safely by a rescue cloud car, Goram grabbed up some of the sparkly wine, three glass and headed toward the would be winners. As Goram approached Garren the Storm Hawks pilot was throwing a hissy fit and tossed down his helmet, he walked right by Goram ignoring him and nearly screaming his disapproval. Goram then approached the ever calm Chara Tull offering her a glass of sparkling wine.
Chara, “to what do we drink to?
    Goram, “surviving the race
Chara, “I can drink to that
Goram, “would you willingly attend the gala?
Chara, “I presume as your guest? I would not want to show up and be turned away.
Goram, “I assure you that you will be provided entry.

Marican Standoff
The Jewel of Yavin

As always the order of events are as I remember them and may not be accurate.

The galla at the Figg & Associates Art Museum was a re-splendid affair with sparkling wine, horderves, and plenty of Cloud City upper class citizens. The crew quickly sees some of the bidders and within timely fashion the remaining make their entrance. Both Kaltho and Vorse making the largest entrances. One with style & opulence, the other with gruff abandon. The crew made an attempt to let Kaltho know that someone at the auction was representing Thakba, and when approached by Kaltho’s protocol droid, pretended they knew nothing. Moshta noticed Pos Podura slink by and ignored the poor Twilek, while Goram found an opportunity to approach Vorse. As the auction began the crew tried to think of methods for bringing the auction higher. Goram took the opportunity to share in some Corellian whisky with Vorse, not realizing he was putting himself into serious danger of becoming completely inebriated. Moshta attempted to converse with Shreya Ordassa and though he discovered her interests in rocks, he was quickly shunned as an uneducated distraction. At this point it looked like the only bidder the team could influence was Vorse. Goram recognized the risk of getting quite inebriated and paid off the bartender to provide him colored water instead of Corellian Whisky.

As the bidding proceeded, the Shens made an appearance. It became quickly obvious that Marus was not happy to see the Shens and made a point to have them watched. Soon the the crew heard a disturbance in the main hall. Goram took the opportunity to leave Vorse and Moshta at the bar. What Goram and Jimo saw was Shreya and a Chagrain staring daggers at each other, it was obvious that Shreya had tossed some liquid on the Chagrain. Two bidding bots showed up and yet both never even noticed the droids on that round of bidding. Jimo was able to get into a conversation with the Chagrain who ended up being Mil Mikkir one of the bidders. Jimo listened to Mil’s complaints on women and lent a consoling ear. This prompted Mil to bid more than he had originally planned to bid.

Meanwhile Moshta got away from Vorse and found himself at the mercy of Aris Shen. She made certain to stir his emotions before checking on her belligerent husband. Moshta and Goram made their way to where the Jewel of Yavin was on display and each saw their quarry. Goram noticed a slim yet curvy female form covered in a silver shining dress, while Moshta noticed the ISB agent Zekra Fol in her attire as a Mining Guild representative. In true retrospective format (aka destiny point) Moshta and Goram setup that Goram would create a diversion to allow Moshta to perform a bid for Vorse who was showing signs of extreme drunkiness. Goram took the opportunity to speak with Chara Tull and flirt in a straightforward yet innocuous way. Goram took the opportunity to create a distraction by requesting Chara to dance and managing to take over the dance floor in the main hall. This allowed Moshta to bring the bidding up another step. Jimo looking around the area found himself trapped by Zekra Fol, who bid him take a datapad to Kaltho the Hutt. Jimo hesitantly took the datapad and in true Jimo fashion broke into the coding to find that Kaltho had apparently been involved with the ISB in the past and that they request his aid in obtaining information on Marus Grayson. Other than that he could not obtain more information as the text had some hidden meanings beyond his understanding. As the bidding came to a close Goram bid farewell to his new intriguing interest, Chara who left him with a statement that “next time maybe I will take you down”.

The crew was contacted by Arend Shen who came across as excited and elated at the crew’s success. He sent an air transport to carry them to meet at the main Star Port of Cloud City. After some discussion on whether to trust Arend or not, the crew board the vehicle and await travel to the star port. As the vehicle begins to travel Jimo notices that there is a weird humming to the vehicle, he inspects and finds nothing initially. Goram not trusting the situation tosses the piloting droid out of the driver’s seat and gets Deta at the helm. Finally Jimo finds the source of the noise, a count down device which can only be a bomb is ticking down. In his haste Jimo fails to disarm the bomb, though does delay the timer. Deta misses the first landing and BOOM the bomb goes off destroying much of the power to the air transport. Deta manages to find a park to crash into a pool of water and the crew survives the landing.

Shortly after getting out of the quickly flooding transport Moshta receives a call from Aris, she whispers to him, “I cannot talk long, father has apparently decided to remove any loose ends, I have the fortune of being his daughter. There are some of father’s thugs headed your way, apparently to pull the gem from the wreckage of the air car…” Moshta hears a bit of shuffling then, “I believe we are headed to the starport for father to take his leave of the system as things cool down, be careful he will almost certainly know you are coming and will not be afraid to use the Winged Guard to detain your team”. Within moments an Arrow-7 Airspeeder quickly comes in and hovers over the wreckage, the crew can see there is a light repeating blaster mounted on the back, this is not the Winged Guard. After noticing there is nobody on board the wreckage the airspeeder travels toward the nearest parked air cars that the crew were headed toward. Combat ensues and Goram manages to take out Arend’s thugs without destroying the airspeeder. Jimo quickly gets the airspeeder into working order after removing the mounted gun, and the crew quickly decides their course of action. Should they flee now or seek out Arend?

The crew decided to find Arend and deal with his treachery, maybe rescue Aris if possible, well Moshta wanted to, Goram wanted to end all Shens. Upon arriving at the star port Moshta reached out to the force and identified that he would find what he was looking for in an area of much change. After aimlessly traveling around the star port the crew saw a sign for the Grand Galaxy Holo-Park, “see some of the marvelous sites of the galaxy in our holographic park”. The crew headed toward the park, entering as the landscape showed as giant trees with rope walkways. Looking down showed no bottom and the footing seemed weird as it was more solid than the hologram made it appear. Soon the whole scenery instantly changed to flowing hills, wide rivers, and manta-ray looking flying beasts, and also Arend Shen. The crew began conversation with Arend and quickly noticed Aris bound and on her knees with three K4 security droids standing guard. Within moments from over a hill to the left came Marus Grayson and his security team. After a few harsh words the guns came out and so did the Winged Guard from behind. They told all to cease and surrender. Just then the scenery changed again to crystal spires and thousands of colorfully clad humanoids walking about their daily activities, this triggered the standoff into blaster fire. As the crew found cover another group showed up, Vorses’ thugs, who immediately began pushing toward the Shens while firing at Grayson’s team and the crew. The Winged Guard started with stun, but quickly switched over to deadly force. The crew focused on the Shens and found the K4 droids much tougher than expected. With a determined focus Moshta reached out with the force and caused Arend to stand still for a moment as Goram put two blaster shots into the Pantoran man, one in the chest, the other in his head. With Arend down the crew took a few hits and quickly realized they were caught well in the middle of a firefight they might not survive. All of a sudden the holographic world sent haywire and it was nearly impossible to see much of anything. Out from a holographic image a hand grabbed Jimo’s arm, which was quickly followed by the form of Zekra Fol the ISB agent. She stated to Jimo, “flee now to dock 33L or remain and face the Winged Guard, make your decision now”. Jimo turned to Moshta who nodded. First Goram and Moshta ran forward toward where the Shen’s were, Moshta hefting a bound Aris and Goram slinging a dead Arend over his shoulder. The crew made a run for it and escaped in the confusion.

As the crew entered the landing dock 33L they saw with much dismay an outdated banged up G9 Rigger Light Freighter, with little to complain about the crew boarded the ship and took off from the star port. Moshta directed Deta to go pickup his ship, upon arriving at the landing dock area the crew could all see that the Winged Guard had the area on lockdown. Jimo reached out to Whiner and found that the droid was safe but would need a pickup. Whiner could see that the ship had a landing clamp attached and there were many Winged Guard in the area. It did not look possible to get the ship free without killing many of the Winged Guard. The whole crew looked at the Forgotten Fate with sad eyes as they turned away to pickup Whiner. Upon picking up Whiner the crew added one more as Whiner had “convinced” the Banking droid to join up with the crew. The droid knowing it had thrown its lot in with the crew decided it would fill whatever role so long as it was not decommissioned.

The crew headed out to space and received an encrypted note for Moshta, “deliver the gem to Formos details will be provided”. With knowing that the Jewel of Yavin would be difficult to find a buyer who wouldn’t just kill the crew, they headed off for Formos. Upon arriving a Formos the crew was met by and old acquaintance, Snoo the Devorian, outside of town. Regretfully handing over the packaged gem to Snoo. Snoo turned to Jimo and stated, "someone left this for you, they described you well enough and knew you had been on Formos. I know not who they were but as everyone around here knows me as the “individual in the know” they were eventually directed to me to hand over to you when you returned" the Devorian smiles and says, “interesting how I manage to have this when your returning to deliver a package”. With no deceit noticed by the crew, Snoo handed a data chip to Jimo and left the crew to their thoughts. Jimo hooking up the data chip to a data pad was greeted by a message from a known acquaintance, who provided Jimo with his first cybernetic parts for his arms, Roem. Roem owns a tech company called Isotech, though provides tech on the black market to supplement his income. Roem states, “I have information which could lead to more than just a bit of gank approved enhancements, come see me on The Wheel”…

The Wheels on the Bus go...
Beyond the Rim

The crew arrived at the Wheel, an enormous, circular hub and spoke style space station. Docking fees were outrageous though goods and services were within the galactic norm. Aris Shen decided she would spend some time at the Wheel and let Moshta know her status. After a few questions to denizens of the Wheel, the crew found IsoTech and entered the warehouse building. The crew was interviewed on their identities by a CZ administration droid. After the crew revealed their identities the droid hastened to lock the door then lead the crew down the hall to meet with Reom.
Reom ended up being a fairly non-descript blue-skinned Twi’lek male who’s easy manner helped bring the crew to ease. He did however skip right into business. Reom introduced the story of the Sa Nalaor and provided some background on how it was a Separatist Battle Cruiser under the command of Captain Harsol. The good captain over 20 years ago foresaw the end of the Clone Wars and setup a plan with Reom’s father to take Separatist technology and sell it on the blackmarket. It is also surmised that Captain Harsol took Separatist funds and valuables along with a brilliant scientist.
At the end of the Clone Wars, Captain Harsol was nearly trapped by the newly formed Imperial Navy and he barely escaped into hyperspace. The ship was never seen again. Recently a message pod was found outside of the wheel, it had apparently been floating without power for the last 20 years around the Wheel as space junk. When given power the pod identified that it was to be delivered to Reom’s father, and since his father had passed it came to Reom. On the pod was a degraded hologram of Captain Harsol telling Reom’s father that they were in the Chol System and making an emergency landing on Cholganna. It appears as though the lost Sa Nalaor will be found on the planet of the nexu.
This is when the bargaining began, Moshta was able to conclude with Reom a payment of 12,500 credits, 25% up front, a modest discount on IsoTech products legitimate and illegitimate for 5 years. Also that they would share in any valuables found 50/50. Reom informed the crew that a droid IT-3PO would accompany them, the droid belonged to Reom’s father and could positively identify Captain Harsol. The droid was on assignment helping Reom’s sister Shira to negotiate resource deals with some tribals on a primitive planet.
The crew left IsoTech and got right to shopping for necessary supplies. After obtaining what they needed they went to a local casino the Starlit Plaza to attempt finding more information. Detta went to enjoy the “penny” slots, Goram found good whiskey, and Moshta went for the high stakes sabac. He was not only able to win a decent amount, he also managed to talk to the Duros bookie named Jokol. Jokol once dreamed of finding the Sa Nalaor and told Moshta of the supposed wealth the ship possessed, wealth that he would truly want to be part of or witness. As the crew left the Casino they spotted a Rodian who quickly darted down an alley. The crew followed though the Rodian was nowhere to be seen. Some colorful discussion occurred with a street thug and the crew found that the Rodian was a member of the Yiyar Clan, a group of Rodians that operated mostly on the blackmarket selling technological supplies and devices.
The crew began loading up the ship, Goram noticed a maintenance droid heading toward the G9 Rigger and yelled at it, the droid quickly dropped something and made a run for it, just before it got to an air duct Goram disabled the droid with an expertly placed shot. Loading up the droid into the ship, Goram then went to see about putting the obvious tracking device onto someone else’s Firespray.
Just as Goram got back to the ship and the crew had finished loading supplies Goram heard a cry and a thump from the other side of the door. He quickly went through the door and noticed two human guards wearing IsoTech emblems and a group of Rodians getting a grav sled going. From his vantage point Goram could see the Rodians had a droid matching the description of IT-3PO. He quick-drew his sidearms and yelled for the rest of the crew to aid him. The chase was hampered by the crowd and blaster fire, the Rodians used stun setting and managed to almost get the droid away when Goram put down the driver. In response a scarred Rodian with a wicked looking blaster made a shot at Goram and knocked the gunslinger flat on his rump. Detta noticing that the tide could change with Goram falling down poured all his luck into a blaster shot that managed to knock the Rodian’s weapon from his hand. At this the sirens of the Wheel Security could be heard and the surviving Rodians immediately disappeared.
The crew took the hint and freed the droid and revived Goram, then quickly getting on board the G9 Rigger to flee the Wheel. As the crew took off Detta managed to show his piloting skills as he avoided incoming traffic and moved out into open space. The coms began to blink and Goram against Moshta’s wishes turned on the coms to hear the Wheel Security state the crew to stand down and return to the Wheel. Up ahead Detta noticed two starfighters changing course to make a pass at the crew’s ship. The Z-95 Headhunters made warning shots but the crew kept moving, noticing that a hyperspace jump would be possible within just a few more seconds. Someone had programmed the astrogation computer with coordinates. Moshta tried to convince Goram to shoot upon the Wheel Security and Goram refused, though helped Detta to pilot the sluggish G9 as the Headhunters put a few shots into the ships rear, just as the Headhunters got lined up Detta was able to engage the hyperspace engines and the crew was away…

Agoraphobia is Real
Beyond the Rim

The crew came out of hyperspace with alarms ringing and very limited visibility. Jimo quickly realized it was the scanners and jumped onto figuring out what occurred to cause the scanners to go haywire. Within a few minutes Jimo found that the scanners were scrambled due to half of the Chol system being within a nebula. The scanners sent out another alarm as several huge objects showed up on the scan in the path of the G9 Rigger. The crew began to see the huge asteroids appear before them and quickly sent the freighter into evasive maneuvers without any major damage to the ship. Jimo then scanned and found the appropriate planet and the crew made way in the correct direction.

Exiting the nebula the crew saw a planet ahead, its lush green and blue scenery viable from the large distance. Moving to orbit Cholganna Jimo set to scanning and located fabricated metals within one of the northern quadrants of the planet. Once into the atmosphere the crew started search patters as Jimo managed the scanners, looking to narrow down where the ship might have landed. After 3 hours of searching Jimo noticed 3 areas of interest and the crew made their way to the nearest one.

As the crew came closer to the first area of notice Jimo determined that it was likely an escape pod. Landing was a bit problematic due to the foliage, and so they set down nearly a ¼ mile from the site. Upon entering the forest the crew quickly became nervous as they were used to metal corridors and open spaces, plus an underlying feeling of dread raised the crews wariness. Once near the site the crew saw that the escape pod was at the bottom of a 20 foot crevasse and began to climb or monkey their way down. At the bottom the crew saw that the pod was in stagnant water and that there were green flying insects around the pod. Moshta snuck up and saw there was a complete hive of the large insects within the pod and a partially crushed skeleton of a humanoid, where the side wall of the pod was mashed in. After touching a few buttons, Moshta decided the pod had no power. Jimo made an approach, without the stealth Moshta utilized and quickly found a swarm of angry green insects flying at him. The crew immediately went into action shooting at the bugs, and Goram tossed a stun grenade into the pod. With a loud thud which reverberated down to the bones over half of the insects dropped. The rest were quickly dispatched with a mystical push of the air from Moshta, leaving many bugs as splatters on the side of the pod. Jimo was then able to pull out the “black box” and noticed that the pod was of Separatist design and that there were the bones of long dead bodies in the water.

Making their way back up the crevasse was more difficult than the way down, though was done without incident. Though shortly after entering the main part of the forest the crew found themselves being attacked by giant black eight tentacled monstrosities. Within short order Goram managed to take down the first one while taking a slap to the face from the second. A couple blaster shots later the other creature dropped dead to the forest floor. Jimo began wondering what he could do with cyber-technology and creatures such as this.

Once the crew got back inside of the G9 Rigger, they flew over to the next site. Here they found the aft engine section of a cruiser which had become a partial dam to a river running through the hulk. Avoiding landing and any precarious climbing the crew jumped down onto the hulk, Moshta landed easily while Goram slipped and tumbled toward the waterfall and Jimo falling direction through the hulk, creating a hole where previously there wasn’t. Goram quickly caught himself and along with Moshta looked down at Jimo to see if he was in dire straights. The crew seeing that the room Jimo had crashed into was lightly furnished and dry, climbed down to inspect the engine section.

What proceeded was poorly designed and should have been either changed or dismissed out of hand. So we will skip any details on the aft section as nothing of note was found.

Upon nearing the third site the crew noticed that the majority of the mid and front sections of the cruiser were broken apart, though all mostly in the same area. It was also apparent that something had tried to cover the hulk with vines and other vegetation to conceal the crashed cruiser. Landing just near the cruiser the crew along with IT-3PO disembarked and began to investigate the area. After passing underneath a large portion of the hull the crew could feel they were being watched…
